Hey, Team CA.
The political data folks at PDI have just crunched the numbers on voter turnout in the ongoing California primary election. Their conclusion is that the “primary could have historically low turnout.” GAH!
Another alarming finding: “Republicans are out-performing their registration by 6-points.” And that’s despite Trump’s endless rants bashing the integrity of vote-by-mail.
All of this is to say we have work to do. We need to boost Democratic turnout for the March 5th primary. There are lots of options to choose from:
Sign up to phone bank in CA-13, where the Democrat lost in 2022 by just a few hundred votes.
Activate America is extending the mailing date for their CA postcards for a few more days; you can sign up for CA-47 postcards or Spanish language postcards and mail them this weekend. Request your postcard lists now,
Join Activate America this Saturday, February 24th, for a canvass in Palmdale to turn out voters in CA-27, where we’re working to oust MAGA Republican Mike Garcia.
Join them this Friday, February 23rd, or Sunday, February 25th, for a door-to-door campaign in Hanford to turn out voters in CA-22, where we’re working to defeat Republican Rubber Stamp David Valadao.
I’m worried. We have got to make people understand how important it is to vote—especially in CA-22, where we are looking at the very real possibility of getting shut out of the the top-two primary by two Republicans.
Here’s the link to the voting guide I use if you live in the L.A. area. If you have other good CA voting guides feel free to drop them in the comments. But please, please vote, and help us get others to vote.
Thanks!
Jess
